Our Glass Jar lid range offers a wide variety of sizes and different plastics. Most commonly ABS plastic is the go to choice for jar closures as it is known for being tough and durable in handling and usage, as well as an affordable option to many. Its smooth and a pleasure to use but also being lightweight is another benefit, and, it is generally considered non-toxic and food-safe for cold and room temperature items whilst also being more than suitable for a wider range of industry applications.
With our PP (polypropylene) lids, they are very tough and heat-resistant whilst still remaining cost effective and is another widely used material of choice for glass jar lids. It is also resistant to chemicals, not reacting with oils, acids or cosmetic ingredients and it blocks water moisture too.
Both ABS and PP is a type of synthetic plastic. Specifically, they are considered thermoplastic, which means it can be melted and remoulded multiple times without significant degradation making it great for recycling in the correct waste disposal streams.
